Family Programs

Secrets of the Zoo: Zoodunnit! (all ages)

A mystery is afoot! Something has gone missing from an animal's exhibit and we need your help to determine the culprit! As participants collect and solve clues, they will explore bird nests and eggs, observe animal behavior, and meet a top-secret animal guest up close.

Enrichment Tinkering Workshop (ages 5 and up)

Step into the shoes of a keeper. Don't miss this opportunity for you and your family to watch as your tinker creation is introduced to the animals at the zoo. This Sunday afternoon program also includes a live animal encounter.

Scout Programs

Girl Scout Earth Day Celebration (grades K-12)
Price: $10.00
Come celebrate the Earth at the Zoo! Enjoy fun environmental games, participate in a Citizen Science Project, meet animals, complete a scavenger hunt, and receive an event patch. Bring SWAPS to trade! Event is held rain or shine.

Summer Camp

Extended Day Camp is available from 3:00-5:00pm the weeks of June 11-15, June 18-22, June 25-29. Add on Extended Day during camp registration!

For camp sessions that are currently full, you can register to be placed on the wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order that you registered and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Registration closes the Thursday before the first day of camp.

Stroller Safari Camp (ages 0-4)

Stroller Safari
Scales, skin, fur and feathers, come enjoy the summer weather at the zoo! Make new friends at the zoo or bring old ones for those summer playdates as you learn all about animals and their coverings. Children and caregivers will discover why birds have feathers and mammals have fur while engaging in activities that encourage your little one's curiosity. Each day participants will meet animals up close, explore zoo exhibits, and feed animals around the zoo.


This ticket is for one child up to 4 years old with a caretaker.

Kinderzoo (Entering Pre-K4 or K)

Animal Adventures
Adventures and mystery take your camper on a journey through the rainforest, temperate forests, wetlands, and desert regions. Kinder Zoo campers spend the week discovering the wonderful world of the animal kingdom, exploring animal families, going on scavenger hunts, and delivering food to our animals. Campers will build their animal knowledge as they play games, create crafts, make friends, and meet live animals up-close in programs that can only happen at the zoo!


Child must be at least 4 years old & entering Pre-K or Kindergarten in the fall of 2018. Please register one session per child.

Nature Play Camp (entering 1st-4th Grades)

Wild about Nature
Get outside and jump into nature this summer! In Nature Play Camp, we will explore the outdoors and the animals that inhabit the world around us. Come build animal homes, investigate animal tracks, and visit animals in the zoo to uncover how they rely on nature in different ways. Through animal-themed games, exciting nature challenges, and up-close animal encounters, campers will explore the connection between animals, nature, and ourselves.


This single day camp is for campers entering 1st through 4th grade Fall of 2018.

Week of Wildlife (entering 1st-3rd grade)

Storytelling with the Animals
Jump into an epic zoo story this summer! During this camp, participants will look at the zoo the way a great story teller would. We will get to know the characters (our animals), the setting (their habitats), and the fast paced plot (their interesting behaviors and interactions)! At the end of each day, campers will retell their own zoo story through puppetry, theater, or a storybook of their own.


Child must be entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in the fall of 2018. Please register one session per child.

Zoo Explorer (entering 4th-6th Grade)

Zoomazing Race
Join in on the excitement at the zoo this summer! In Zoo Explorers campers will go on zoo-safari to spot Dingoes in the outback, travel to Africa to observe baboons, search out poisonous frogs in the rainforest, and engage in endless discovery about animal abilities along the way. This camp is packed full of first hand experiences with our animals, exhilarating games, team challenges, creative activities, and unique experiences that only happen at the zoo.



Child must be entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in the fall of 2018. Please register one session per child.

Junior Scientist (Entering 7th-9th Grade)

Science in Zoos
Want to be a scientist when you grow up? Jr. Scientists will spend a week exploring the exciting life of a zookeeper and the sciences needed to keep our animals healthy. We'll investigate biology, ecology, animal behavior, and more. Campers will glimpse behind the scenes, get a taste of what it's like to be a zookeeper by helping with some of their tasks, create enrichment for our animals, learn about the conservation work WCS scientists do each day, and meet animals up close. There are a lot of ways to be a scientist at a zoo - join us to discover them all!


Child must be entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the fall of 2018. Please register one session per child.
