Summer Camp
For camp sessions that are currently full, you can register to be placed on the wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order that you registered and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Registration closes the Thursday before the first day of camp.

Kinderzoo (entering Pre-K4 or K)

Grab your passports and get ready for a wild trip around the world! Campers will discover what makes animals in the arctic different from those in Australia as they embark on adventures through the seven continents. Throughout their journey campers will meet animals up close, explore nature, create zoo crafts, and travel to animal exhibits - all while discovering unique adaptations of animals all over the world.

One week per camper.
Camper must be at least 4 years old & entering Pre-K4 or Kindergarten in the fall of 2019.

Week of Wildlife 3 Day (entering 1st-3rd grade)

Zoo Sleuths
This adventure camp will transform young campers into wildlife detective as they explore the zoo, visit with animals, and discover animal secrets using scientific instruments. Clues, such as animal tracks and scat, will lead campers throughout the zoo during this ultimate quest to solve a zoo mystery! Animal encounters, outdoor activities, crafts, and exhibit visits are all a part of the fun.


One week per camper.
Camper must be entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in the fall of 2019. This camp is not in session July 4 or 5.

Throughout the week, they'll practice being wildlife biologists by venturing into the field, meeting animals up close, exploring our exhibits, and conducting experiments every day. Together our Zooperheros will help save the planet.

Session A: Urban Jungle
Grab your binoculars - it's time to trek through the wilds of Brooklyn! Like all New Yorkers, city animals are expert survivalists and our campers will uncover what makes them unique with up-close animal encounters, exhibit visits, and hands-on nature exploration every day. We'll even travel out of the concrete jungle to other amazing habitats to learn from species around the world!

Along the way they will encounter challenges that test our creativity, sportsmanship and teamwork as we explore our zoo animals and learn about their countries of origin. Puzzles, scavenger hunts, and trivia games are just some of the challenges campers might encounter! On your mark, get set, GO!

Junior Zoologist (ages 6-10)

Calling all scientists! Challenge your Jr. Zoologist's curiosity and join this 6-week program to explore STEM topics with expert instructors, hands-on scientific discovery, and animal encounters.

Wild Earth Science: Ever wondered what makes a volcano blow and an earthquake shake? Come to the zoo and discover the amazing ways our planet has changed over time - participants will spend time in the lab developing hands-on models to demonstrate some of the earth's coolest phenomena.

Citzen Science: Grab your binoculars - it's time to become citizen scientists! From birds and bats to clouds and ice, over the course of this series Jr. Zoologists will participate in collecting data for real citizen science research projects. Participants will perfect field ecology and biology techniques and discover their inner naturalist - with some help from our wild animal ambassadors, of course!

This experience is for children ages 6-10.

Zoofari Mid-Winter Break Camp (K-5)

Calling all future zookeepers! Grab your boots and come explore what it takes to care for some of the world's most amazing animals. Participants will create animal enrichment, prepare animal diets, and meet some awesome animals up close.

Family STEM Safari (ages 5+)

Bring the whole family to the zoo for a day of hands on science and exploration. Find out how zoos use STEM to learn about and care for animals while practicing with tools and procedures being used by WCS scientists in the field and participating in hands on science experiments.

Scout Programs

Girl Scout Earth Day Celebration
Price: $10.00
Come celebrate the Earth at the Zoo! Enjoy fun environmental games, participate in a Citizen Science Project, meet animals, complete a scavenger hunt, and receive an event patch. Bring SWAPS to trade! Event is held rain or shine.

Adults can be added on at check-out for regular adult admission price.
