Campaigns for Conservation
This mini-camp highlights our latest campaign, "Give a Sip"! Campers will engage in our campaign through games, activities, crafts, and meeting animals. This is a great opportunity to learn how to be more kind to our oceans and make a difference!

Wildlife Mini-Camp: Veterans Day

Musical Creatures
Campers will be learning all about animal sounds! They will learn about the different classes of animals. Believe it or not, all classes of animals make some type of sound. Animals make sounds for different reasons. Can you think of any reasons why wolves howl or birds chirp? What about giant whales singing?

Wildlife Mini-Camp: Winter Break

Animal Homes
Animal homes can be found everywhere. Look up at the trees! Look down to see holes in the ground. See how bubbles form on top of a body of water! Animals live almost everywhere! Campers will learn where animals build their homes, how long they live there, and what their special adaptations are in order to survive in their natural habitat.

Animal Movements
Campers will learn about how animals have become adapted to moving a certain way depending on where they live out in the wild. Chinchillas hop from rock to rock in search for food and to get away from predators. Owls have special feathers on their bodies to help silent their flight to catch their prey! Snakes slither on the ground and climb up into trees with their powerful muscles! Campers will play games, make a craft and meet animals that all relate to the theme; animal movement!

Animal Diets
This session campers will learn about animal diets. Does every animal eat the same thing? Not at all! Do animals have certain adaptations to find or hunt their food? Totally! Let's explore different animals that can be found in every biome and the types of foods they eat according to their special adaptations and their available source of food.

Wildlife Mini-Camp: Martin Luther King Day

Campers will learn about the rights that animals have today and how there are continuous conservation efforts happening right here at the Queens Zoo! They will learn about our SSP (Species Survival Plan) programs and meet animals related to them. New England Cotton tail rabbits are one species of animal that we are trying to save in the wild. Let's meet a domestic rabbit and talk about how they are related!

Family Programs
Fun experiences await the whole family at the Queens Zoo. Join us for exciting learning experiences throughout the year!

Toddler Time (ages 2-3 with adult)

Do all animals move the same? Of course not! Not only will we slither like a snake, we will get to meet one, and many animals that have a special way of moving! Toddler time is a blast with our sensory experiences, crafting, song and dance, and tours of the zoo!

Winter session dates: January 30, February 6, 13, 27, March 6, 13 (skips 2/20)
Spring session dates: March 27, April 3, 10, 17, May 1, 8 (skips 4/24)


*Ticket include one caregiver and child. One caregiver is required to attend with each registered child. Additional siblings are not permitted in order to maintain an appropriate and comfortable setting for the participants and flow of the program.

Stroller Safari (ages 0-3)

Children will have a chance to bond with their grownups while singing songs, meeting live animals, sensory play and craft time! Each session will transition from the one before. Children can build up their skills in learning their numbers, colors, and using their sense of touch, hearing, feeling and smelling!

Domestic Animal Discoveries

All of our domestic animals enjoying playing around just like you! The whole family will be able to make a special enrichment product for our farm animals and watch them play with their new treat, as well as meet a zoo keeper that works on our domestic side!

PJ Storytime at the Zoo (ages 4 and up)

An instructor and other staff members will greet families with a craft celebrating Spring time! A VIP tour around the zoo at night is the highlight of the evening! Afterwards, animal encounters will be presented back inside the classroom. To end the evening, families will get cozy and listen to a story that wraps up what was learned.

Family Overnight Adventures (4 years and older)

Join us for a unique experience exploring the Queens Zoo at night. You and your family (children 4 and older) will learn about animal diets and prepare animal enrichment treats. You'll go on hike in the Aviary and meet animals like chinchillas and turtles up close. This exciting adventure is sure to create memories your family will treasure.

Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, and picnic dinner. Beverages, dessert, late-night snack, and breakfast will be provided. No need for alarm clocks, our vocal parrots will provide the wake-up call.

Overnights begin at 5:30 PM and end at 10:00 AM the next morning.
Pricing is per person and children must be accompanied by an adult.
