Children's Programs
Central Park Zoo Children and Teen programs are designed to connect kids to nature. Programs feature animal encounters, exhibit visits, art activities, and more! They are also an excuse to have fun!

Junior Keepers (ages 8-12)
Regular Price: $60.00

Roll up your sleeves and get messy! Jr. Keepers will get up close to animals and see what it takes to be a keeper at the Central Park Zoo. Each session focuses on a different animal and includes creating some early morning enrichment for them.

This experience is for children ages 8-12.

 
Early Childhood Programs

Toddler Time (ages 2-3 with adult)

Come play at the Zoo! Join us on this "caregiver and me" 6 session series, where you and your child discover the natural world through animal-themed group play and hands-on projects. Each session is led by a Zoo educator and includes an animal guest in the classroom and a guided Zoo visit.

Themes:
Animal Moves - Show us your moves! Discover how different animals move in their habitats.
Dates: 
  • Fridays - 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1
  • Saturdays - 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2
Animal Sense - Explore the senses through the eyes (and ears, and nose!) of our Zoo animals.

This ticket is for one child ages 2-3 and a caregiver. Additional siblings and adults are not permitted in order to maintain an appropriate and comfortable setting for the participants and caregiver.

Family Programs
Central Park Zoo offers families a chance to discover the wonders of wildlife together. Ticket prices are per person, unless otherwise stated. Book a family Wildlife Adventure today!

Family Morning with the Animals (0-5 w/adult)

Good morning to Zoo! Following playful animal-themed activities, children and caregivers visit the Zoo before it opens and watch as animals receive their breakfast.

This program is for children ages 0-5. Tickets are sold per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Exploring the Wild (ages 6-10)

Take a walk on the wild side! Families discover amazing animal adaptations and survival strategies around the Zoo through fun activities and live animal encounters. Children and caregivers help prepare animal treats and discover how keepers care for them each day.

Zooper Heroes (PreK4 - 3rd grade)

Adult Programs
Explore issues of wildlife conservation with Central Park Zoo staff, experience the zoo in a unique way, and see our exhibits and animals through an expert's eye. At these programs, you'll also have an opportunity to meet and mingle with other wildlife devotees.

Grab your camera and join our morning photography program to capture the perfect shot! After learning the tricks of the trade from our animal staff, you'll head out to the zoo before it opens to take exclusive photos under the guidance of our resident wildlife photographer. Animals will be enjoying seasonal enrichment with beautiful Central Park as the setting!

This program is for adults ages 18 and older. Ticket is per person.

For camp sessions that are currently full, you can register to be placed on the wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order that you registered and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Toddler Camp (2-3 years old with adult)

Join us on an around-the-world adventure right here at the Zoo! Discover a variety of habitats and their animal representatives in this hands-on, interactive 1 hour camp for toddlers and their caregivers. Up-close animals encounters, art experiences, hands-on investigations, and zoo explortion are part of this week-long experience.

One week per camper.
Campers must be 2 or 3 years old at the time of the program.

Kinderzoo 3 Day (entering Pre-K4 or K)

Campers investigate the Zoo using five senses, just like our animal friends. From super sniffers to hyper-hearing, campers discover how animals interact with the world around them. With hands-on exploration, guided inquiry investigations and up-close animal encounters each day, this will be an unforgettable week at the zoo.

One week per camper.
Campers must be entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade in the fall of 2019.

Enrich your summer by getting to know the ins and outs of zoo keeping! Campers will learn what it takes to be a keeper, from daily husbandry to exhibit design. During this exciting and productive week, campers will use their newly gained keeper knowledge to design, create and present their very own animal exhibit, complete with interpretive graphics.

One week per camper.
Campers must be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2019.

Conservation in Action (9th-12th grade)
Regular Price: $1,500.00

During Conservation in Action, teens will spend two weeks learning about a wide range of careers in conservation at the Wildlife Conservation Society. From discovering what it takes to care for exhibit animals, to understanding the complex system of flora around the zoo grounds, teens will come away from this experience with a well-rounded introduction to many aspects of working in the field of conservation. Activities include animal behavior studies, urban ecology research projects, and upclose animal encounters. Guest speakers from around WCS will also be a part of this program.

Participants must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2019.

Scout Programs

Scout Fall Fest
Price: $10.00
Join us for Scout Fall Fest at the Central Park Zoo! Scouts work as teams to fulfill STEM challenges that connect to conservation and the environment. They’ll develop leadership skills and confidence as they work together to complete each activity. The day also includes seeing animals up close, earning a fun patch and an animal-themed friendship SWAP!

This progam is for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. Adults can be added on at check-out.
