PPZ Birthday Parties
Make your child's birthday wild at the Zoo with animal guests! Up to 30 friends and family can join the fun.

A non-refundable deposit is required to book. If you have questions, please contact the Birthday Coordinator prior to booking at ppzbirthdayparties@wcs.org.

An extension to your party time may be added for an additional fee.

There's no better place for a birthday party than the zoo! Every 90 min party is visited by 2 animal guests, a trip to the barn or pond to feed animals, and an experienced educator who will work with you to make sure this an unforgettable birthday for your child. Add on an extra 30 minutes so you have time for even more fun.

A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a birthday party at the Prospect Park Zoo. If you have questions, contact the Birthday Party Specialist prior to booking online at ppzbirthdayparties@wcs.org.

Submitting this form reserves your birthday party date & time & requires a non-refundable deposit. The Birthday Party Specialist will reach out to you within 3 business days, at which time you will have the option to add on party time for an additional cost. The price listed above is for up to 30 people, including the birthday family.

Spring Showers, Animal Powers: April 25, 2026
Hop into spring with this fun and educational family program! In this adventure, kids and their caregivers will explore how animals thrive as nature awakens in the spring. From how frogs sing in the rain to how animals adapt to the changing weather, you’ll discover the incredible ways creatures adjust to the season’s changes. Through hands-on activities, animal encounters, and interactive fun, families will gain a deeper appreciation for the wonders of spring and the animals that thrive in it!

Storytime: Spring Tales and Springtails: May 16, 2026
Join us for a delightful afternoon of storytelling and exploration at the zoo, perfect for young animal lovers! In this interactive storytime program, we’ll dive into whimsical spring-themed tales about the animals that come out to play this time of year. From buzzing bees to hopping frogs, kids will hear fun stories and learn about the creatures that thrive as spring awakens. With engaging activities and up-close animal encounters, this is a perfect way to celebrate the season with your little ones!

Hands-on fun and up-close wildlife moments await!

Monsters and Mythical Beasts - October 20th, 2025
From fire-breathing dragons to griffins and werewolves, myths and monsters have fascinated us for centuries - but could they be based on real animals? In this one-day camp, 1st–5th graders will uncover the wild truth behind legendary creatures. Campers will discover how nature’s most fascinating animals sparked some of history’s greatest myths through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters. From creatures who seem eerie to animals with unbelievable abilities, this thrilling adventure will prove that truth is sometimes stranger than fiction!

Conservation Heros- November 4th, 2025
Calling all conservation kids! In this one-day camp, 1st–5th graders will discover what it takes to protect animals and their habitats—just like the real conservationists at the Wildlife Conservation Society. Through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters, campers will learn how scientists help animals here in New York and around the world. Get inspired by the amazing work of conservation heroes and find out how you can make a difference for wildlife, too!

Animal Folk Tales- November 11th, 2025
Your camper will love spending the day immersed in the rich tradition of Native and Indigenous animal stories! Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and close-up animal encounters, campers will explore powerful parables and timeless tales passed down through generations. From clever tricksters like Coyote and Raven to stories that explain how animals came to be, this camp celebrates the deep connection between culture, nature, and imagination. Join us for a day where Indigenous wisdom and wildlife come to life!

STEM Stewards- January 19th, 2026
Your 1st–5th grade camper will love exploring the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math in this fun, hands-on one-day camp at the zoo! From learning how birds use engineering to build intricate nests to exploring how we use science and innovation to protect animals and their habitats, campers will dive into the amazing ways nature and humans work together. With engaging activities and up-close animal encounters, this camp will inspire kids to become future stewards of the planet! 

Wild Wetlands- March 20th, 2026
Your 1st–5th grader will love diving into the wonders of wetlands in this exciting one-day camp! Campers will explore the amazing animals and plants that call swamps, marshes, and bogs home. Through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters, they’ll discover why these ecosystems are so important and how they help both wildlife and people. From stealthy swamp dwellers to marvelous migratory birds, this adventure will reveal the hidden world of one of nature’s most vital habitats!

This camp is for children in 1st-5th grade. Snacks will be provided. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches.

Prospect Park Zoo Patch Program (K-12th)

Girl Scout Zoo Mystery (1st - 12th)

Bring your scout or troop to the zoo, and earn a patch! Includes self-guided activities, food for barn animals and a special patch. All ages.

Can You Solve a Mystery at the Zoo? Become a Wildlife Detective, collect clues, and solve the mystery as you learn about animals and complete badge activities. Meet animals, trade SWAPS and enjoy a special Acorn Theater performance. Each participant will receive an event patch.

Tickets are per person and scouts must be accompanied by an adult.​

This program is held rain or shine and includes walking outside. Some outdoor areas have uneven surfaces.

Girl Scout Earth Day (Grades K-12th)
