Monsters and Mythical Beasts - October 20th, 2025
From fire-breathing dragons to griffins and werewolves, myths and monsters have fascinated us for centuries - but could they be based on real animals? In this one-day camp, 1st–5th graders will uncover the wild truth behind legendary creatures. Campers will discover how nature’s most fascinating animals sparked some of history’s greatest myths through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters. From creatures who seem eerie to animals with unbelievable abilities, this thrilling adventure will prove that truth is sometimes stranger than fiction!
Conservation Heros- November 4th, 2025
Calling all conservation kids! In this one-day camp, 1st–5th graders will discover what it takes to protect animals and their habitats—just like the real conservationists at the Wildlife Conservation Society. Through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters, campers will learn how scientists help animals here in New York and around the world. Get inspired by the amazing work of conservation heroes and find out how you can make a difference for wildlife, too!
Animal Folk Tales- November 11th, 2025
Your camper will love spending the day immersed in the rich tradition of Native and Indigenous animal stories! Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and close-up animal encounters, campers will explore powerful parables and timeless tales passed down through generations. From clever tricksters like Coyote and Raven to stories that explain how animals came to be, this camp celebrates the deep connection between culture, nature, and imagination. Join us for a day where Indigenous wisdom and wildlife come to life!
STEM Stewards- January 19th, 2026
Your 1st–5th grade camper will love exploring the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math in this fun, hands-on one-day camp at the zoo! From learning how birds use engineering to build intricate nests to exploring how we use science and innovation to protect animals and their habitats, campers will dive into the amazing ways nature and humans work together. With engaging activities and up-close animal encounters, this camp will inspire kids to become future stewards of the planet!
Wild Wetlands- March 20th, 2026
Your 1st–5th grader will love diving into the wonders of wetlands in this exciting one-day camp! Campers will explore the amazing animals and plants that call swamps, marshes, and bogs home. Through hands-on activities, zoo explorations, and up-close animal encounters, they’ll discover why these ecosystems are so important and how they help both wildlife and people. From stealthy swamp dwellers to marvelous migratory birds, this adventure will reveal the hidden world of one of nature’s most vital habitats!
This camp is for children in 1st-5th grade. Snacks will be provided. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches.
