CPZ Summer Camp
A zoo adventure awaits! Register your child for a week of summer camp at the Central Park Zoo where they'll get to see animals up close, explore zoo exhibits, have fun, and make new friends. It'll be their wildest camp experience ever! 

Camp starts daily at 9:00am and ends at 3:00pm, unless otherwise noted. Each participant must wear the camp t-shirt every day of camp. One camp t-shirt is included in your registration for camp. Additional camp t-shirts can be purchased along with camp registration as an add-on item.

Are you ready to test your own Animal Sense? From super sniffers to hyper-hearing, campers will investigate adaptations like these through hands-on exploration, scientific investigations, and up-close animal encounters every day!

Splat, Boom, Hiss! This week, campers embark on an amazing adventure through the weird, wacky and WILD animal world. Campers may get messy as we make our way through some sticky situations, hair-raising animal encounters, and icky investigations.

Nature Explorers
Warning: this camp contains nature! In this half day all-outdoors camp, campers will get messy as they learn, play, and explore the zoo. Throughout the week, campers meet animals up-close, complete nature-based challenges, and discover how New Yorkers and scientists around the world help wildlife every day!

Survivor!
Throughout the animal kingdom and around the world, animals must outwit, outplay and outlast in order to survive every single day. This week, we'll put our own skills to the test as we explore the Zoo, meet animals up-close and complete team challenges, all while looking for the ultimate animal survivor!

Interested in a career in zookeeping or wildlife conservation? Expand your knowledge and develop new skills in this hands-on, interactive week exploring the role of zoos in the city and around the world. See what it takes to work in the field of conservation as we spend time getting up close to animals, meeting zookeepers, and designing our very own zoo.

Central Park Zoo Wild Birthday Bash 
Celebrate your child’s birthday with a unique party experience at the Central Park Zoo! There's no better place for a birthday party than the Central Park Zoo! The birthday party package includes 90 minutes of jam-packed fun, animal guests, a trip around the Zoo, and two party hosts to make for an unforgettable birthday for your child. Parties conclude with time to enjoy treats like pizza and cupcakes and sing Happy Birthday, of course!

Payment in full is required at the time of booking.

Maximum capacity is 35 total participants, inclusive of the party child and their family. Infants who are not yet walking do not count toward the total head count. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult in a 1:1 ratio. Children 4 and older must be accompanied by adult in a 1:6 ratio.

Zookeeping for Grownups (18+)

Do you wish your coworkers had whiskers? Always dreamed of penguin peers? Discover the ins and outs of Animal Care at the Central Park Zoo as you live out your childhood dream job! At Zookeeping for Grownups, participants will have hands-on, messy animal experiences at the Central Park Zoo. We will help Children's Zoo keepers with everyday chores, including cleanup, meal prep, and play time. We'll get up close and personal with small ambassador animals, too. Be prepared to get messy!

This program is for adults ages 18 and older. Ticket is per person.

What do pigeons and puffins have in common? Both can be found at the Central Park Zoo! Discover the amazing wildlife and wild places in and around New York City, and right here in the Zoo. Campers will meet animals up close, investigate local wildlife, and explore the Zoo all in one day!

What's for Lunch? (1st-5th grades) - November 1, 2024
What does a grizzly bear eat for breakfast? What does a lemur pack for lunch? Discover answers to these questions and more during this one-day camp, as we meet animals upclose, trek around the Zoo and complete animal-themed challenges. 

Zoo Election Day (1st-5th grades) - November 5, 2024
Cast your vote at the Central Park Zoo today! Campers will learn about different animal adaptations as we explore the Zoo, conduct animal candidate interviews during upclose encounters, and even help create campaign posters. Lastly, votes are collected and a winner is annouced at the end of the camp day! 

Tropical Expedition (3rd-5th grades) - January 20, 2025
Brr! It's cold outside, so we're heading to warm up with a visit to the Tropics!  We'll explore it all in this one-day camp including colorful birds and reptiles, fruit loving mammals, and even giant invertebrates! Campers will meet animals upclose and complete tropical trials as we trek from forest floor to emerging treetops. ​​​​​​​

Snakes on the Plains (K-2nd grades) - January 29, 2025
Celebrate the year of the snake as we investigate some sssssensational adaptations of snakes from grasslands and plains. Through hands on activities, exhibit visits, and up-close animal encounters, we’ll learn more about this slithery and special animal. ​​​​​​​

Daisies, earn your Eco Learner badge by going on a nature trek in Central Park Zoo! Through games and challenges, you will discover the many ways you can take action to protect nature! During the trek through habitats at the Zoo, you'll make a few pit stops to meet some resident animals up close. 

Shapes in Nature - April 27, 2025
Daisies, you can now earn your Shapes in Nature Badge at the Zoo! Using the Zoo as our field site, we'll observe the natural world up close, paying attention to patterns we notice, and create nature inspired art.

Shapes in Nature - January 18, 2025
Brownies you can earn your Shapes in Nature badge at the Zoo!  Through observation and data collection, animal-themed activties and games, you'll complete all 5 of the steps for this badge.  This workshop includes an up-close animal encounter, Zoo exhibit visits and more!​​​​​​​

Bugs - March 1, 2025
Brownies, have you heard the latest buzz? You can earn your Bugs badge at Central Park Zoo! We’ll learn all about insects and cover the badge steps including meeting some insects from the Zoo, exploring insect habitats, and taking a bug themed micro-field trip!

Juniors will earn their Animal Habitats badge by exploring the Central Park Zoo to learn all about animals and their habitats. They'll learn about and meet some animals from habitats all around the world and also get an insider view of how we recreate some animals' habitats in the Zoo.

STEM Careers - February 9, 2025
Do you dream of becoming a zookeeper or veterinarian? Maybe a field biologist? In this badge workshop, you’ll explore different careers in wildlife conservation by meeting animals and the people that work with them, begin planning your future career, and much, much more! Available for both Juniors and Cadettes.
