Summer Camp
For camp sessions that are currently full, you can register to be placed on the wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order that you registered and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Registration closes the Thursday before the first day of camp.

Kinderzoo (entering Pre-K4 or K)

Enroll your little one for a fun-filled camp, packed with animals! Kinderzoo campers will discover that every living thing plays an important role in nature as they spend the week bringing classic children’s stories to life. Each day we will highlight a different story using animal encounters, dramatic play, games, and exhibit visits to create an immersive experience, sure to leave campers wanting more.

Register your child for two weeks of camp by choosing one A session and one B session! Price is per week. Campers must turn 4 years old on or before their first day of KinderZoo camp and be entering Pre-K4 or Kindergarten in the fall of 2020.

Week of Wildlife (entering 1st-3rd grade)

Adventures in Nature
Earth, air, fire, water, and heart - how do people and animals utilize these elements? Campers will meet animals up close and complete nature-based challenges to discover how animals work with the elements to survive. From composting leftover food scraps, to creating safe habitats for local wildlife, campers will learn about conservation actions that will create a healthy planet for us and our wild neighbors.


One week per camper. Camper must be entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in the fall of 2020.

Wild Safari (entering 1st-5th grade)

Session A: Back to the Zoo-ture
Have you ever seen a wolf roaming Park Slope? How about a Wooly Mammoth in Windsor Terrace? Join us as we travel through time to discover the natural history of our Brooklyn backyard like never before! Campers will get up-close with amazing animals while exploring how their wild neighborhood has changed through the centuries - no DeLorean needed!

Session B: Zoomanji
Roll the dice and jump into an epic week of zoo adventure! Each day campers will come face-to-face with wild creatures, overcome unexpected quests, and journey through the realms of Zoo-manji. With inspiration from wildlife, up-close animal encounters, and science investigations, campers will work together to beat the game. Does your camper have what it takes to play Zoo-manji?

Zoo Explorer (entering 4th-6th grade)

Myths, Legends, and Science of the Animal Kingdom
How did the turtle get its shell? How did the snake lose its legs? Campers will explore amazing animals in mythology and discover the natural phenomena behind legends and folklore. Through up-close animal encounters, investigations of scientific principles, games, and adventure, campers will uncover the amazing biology behind the adaptations that may have inspired these enduring stories!


One week per camper. Camper must be entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in the fall of 2020.

Baboon Breakfast (all ages)

Jr. Zoo Club (Ages 0-6)

You and your little ones will make new friends, meet special animal guests, enjoy a read aloud, and have time to play in the Discovery Center after closing to the public. Every day is a new adventure at Jr. Zoo Club!

Keeper for a Day (ages 5 and up)

This program is packed full of special experiences for the entire family.

Sessions:
Monkeys - December 7, 2019
We will learn about animal diets (we'll even visit the zoo kitchen!) and help prepare tasty treats for some of our Prospect Park Zoo monkeys, including the Golden Lion Tamarins and the Geoffrey's Marmosets.

Animals with Wings - January 4, 2020
We will make some new feathered friends by meeting birds up-close and help create some special treats for our African Straw Colored Bats.

Predators - February 1, 2020
We will learn about caring for fierce predators like the Pallas Cats and Dingoes and help the zookeepers keep these animals' hunting instincts sharp by making sensory enrichment.


Sea Lions - April 4, 2020
We will learn about how zookeepers teach our California Sea Lions new behaviors like waving, barking, and flipping through the air on command and help make some tasty, fishy enrichment.


Domesticated Animals - May 2, 2020
We will head to the barn to learn about caring for domestic animals like goats, sheep, and alpacas.


This experience is for families with children ages 5 and up. Tickets are per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Mother's Day Breakfast (all ages)

Treat mom to something special this year - a celebration at the zoo! We will meet in the zoo before it opens, enjoy a light breakfast, meet an animal close up, and help prepare special treats for the some of our amazing species.

Scout Programs

Girl Scout Earth Day Celebration (Grades K-12)
Price: $10.00
Girl Scouts: Join us for fun activities as we celebrate Earth Day at the Zoo! Participate in an exciting scavenger hunt in search of Letterboxes and Geocaches and practice Leave No Trace along the way! Earn badges, meet animals, sing songs, and receive an event patch.  Bring SWAPS to trade.  Event is held rain or shine.

This program is for children in grades K-12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can be added on at check-out.
