Summer Camps
For camp sessions that are currently full, you can register to be placed on the wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order that you registered and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Please be sure to select the appropriate camp for your child. Failure to accurately represent your child's age or fall 2020 grade level is grounds for cancellation of your registration and/or dismissal from camp without a refund.

Children are not allowed to attend more than one week of camp. This prevents children from attending camp where they repeat the same curriculum and activities.

Toddler Camp (2-3 years old with adult)

Scaly and Smooth, Feathery and Furry
Discover the world of wildlife during this 1 hour "caregiver and me" mini-camp! You and your child explore the natural world through play and sensory interactions with feathers, shells, scales, and more. Animal encounters, art experiences, play, movement and a guided Zoo expedition are part of the fun every day!


One week per camper. Campers must be 2 or 3 years old at the time of the program. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches and snack.

Kinderzoo (entering Pre-K4 or K)

Animals and Me 
Join us as we discover the many ways humans and animals interact! Together, we will investigate animal jobs from paleontologists to farmers through hands-on activities, Zoo exploration, and up-close animal encounters each day. Your camper will leave knowing all the ins and outs of working with animals!


One week per camper. Campers must turn 4 years old on or before their first day of camp and entering Pre-K or Kindergarten in fall 2020 and must be able to use the bathroom independently. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches and snack.

Campers are inducted into the eco-avenger league, and together, investigate confounding conundrums concerning wildlife and wild places around the world. Every day, we explore the Zoo, meet amazing animals and learn how scientists, investigators, and New Yorkers help animals around the world.

Junior Keepers (6th-8th grade)

A to Zoo
Enrich your summer by getting to know the ins and outs of zoo keeping! Campers will learn what it takes to be a keeper, from daily husbandry to exhibit design. From ants to alpacas, campers investigate animal diversity and how keepers learn to care for the diverse animals in their care.


One week per camper.Campers must be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2020. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches and snack.

Conservation in Action (9th-12th grade)

Our Changing World
Calling the next generation of conservation leaders! Teens will spend two weeks learning about global conservation at the Wildlife Conservation Society, through daily keeper work, field investigation, and real-time science research. Together, we will explore how zoos connect to conservation movements around the globe while learning from conservation experts.


Participants must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2020. Children must bring their own nut-free lunches and snack.

Come play at the Zoo! Join us on this "caregiver and me" 5 session series, where you and your child discover the natural world through animal-themed play and hands-on projects. Each session is led by a Zoo educator and includes an animal guest in the classroom and a guided Zoo visit.

This ticket is for one child ages 2-3 and a caregiver. Additional siblings and adults are not permitted in order to maintain an appropriate and comfortable setting for the participants and caregiver.

Exploring the Wild (ages 6-10)

Mother's Day Celebration (Ages 2+)

Celebrate Mothers' Day here at the zoo! On this day dedicated to moms, families will meet a variety of zoo animal moms and their babies. We'll make tasty morsels for some super animal moms and go on an animal moms scavenger hunt that concludes with meeting a special animal guest. We’ll then make a special Mother's Day craft and enjoy a yummy treat.

This program is for children ages 2 and up. Ticket includes one adult and one child.

Central Park Zoo Children and Teen programs are designed to connect kids to nature. Programs feature animal encounters, exhibit visits, art activities, and more! They are also an excuse to have fun!

Junior Keepers (ages 8-12)

Roll up your sleeves and get messy! Jr. Keepers will get up close to animals and see what it takes to be a keeper at the Central Park Zoo. Each session focuses on a different animal and includes creating some early morning enrichment for them.

Little Zoo Vets (ages 8-12)

What do you do when a tiger has a toothache or an elephant has a sore foot? How do you anesthetize a fish or an aardvark? Does a walrus say “ah”? In this afterschool class, students will learn about the different aspects of zoo veterinary medicine taught by WCS veterinarian Dr. John Sykes. Classes involve real veterinary medicine equipment and supplies. Students gain an appreciation of what zoo veterinarians do every day and how animals at the zoo are cared for. Topics range from physical exams and anesthesia to internal medicine. Parents are welcome to observe the classes or drop-off.

Dates: February 27th, March 5th, and March 12th

Explore issues of wildlife conservation with Central Park Zoo staff, experience the zoo in a unique way, and see our exhibits and animals through an expert's eye. At these programs, you'll also have an opportunity to meet and mingle with other wildlife devotees.

Grab your camera and join our morning photography program to capture the perfect shot! After learning the tricks of the trade from our animal staff, you'll head out to the zoo before it opens to take exclusive photos under the guidance of our resident wildlife photographer. Animals will be enjoying seasonal enrichment with beautiful Central Park as the setting!

Scout Programs

Scout Fall Fest
Price: $10.00
Join us for Scout Fall Fest at the Central Park Zoo! Scouts work as teams to fulfill STEM challenges that connect to conservation and the environment. They’ll develop leadership skills and confidence as they work together to complete each activity. The day also includes seeing animals up close, earning a fun patch and an animal-themed friendship SWAP!

This progam is for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. Adults can be added on at check-out.
