In this four day camp, Kinderzoo campers will discover that every living thing plays an important role in nature as we spend the week bringing classic children’s stories to life through animal encounters, dramatic play, games, and exhibit visits.

Register your child for two weeks of camp by choosing one Animal Tales and one Story Safari session! Price is per week. This drop off camp is designed for Pre-schoolers and those entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2022. Campers must be 4 years old on or before their first day of camp.

Adventures in Nature 
Earth, air, fire, water, and heart - how do people and animals utilize these elements? Campers will meet animals up close and complete nature-based challenges to discover how animals work with the elements to survive. From composting leftover food scraps, to creating safe habitats for local wildlife, campers will learn about conservation actions that will create a healthy planet for us and our wild neighbors.

One week per camper, but you can buy a second week of another grade appropriate camp! Camper must be entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in the fall of 2022.

Zoo-manji
Roll the dice and jump into an epic zoo adventure in this 4-day camp! Each day campers will come face-to-face with wild creatures, overcome unexpected quests, and journey through the realms of Zoo-manji. With inspiration from wildlife, up-close animal encounters, and science investigations, campers will work together to beat the game. Does your camper have what it takes to play Zoo-manji?

One week per camper, but you can buy a second week of another grade appropriate camp! Camper must be entering 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade in the fall of 2022.

Zoo-manji

Myths, Legends, and Science of the Animal Kingdom
How did the turtle get its shell? How did the snake lose its legs? In this four day camp, campers will explore amazing animals in mythology and discover the natural phenomena behind legends and folklore. Through up-close animal encounters, investigations of scientific principles, games, and adventure, campers will uncover the amazing biology behind the adaptations that may have inspired these enduring stories!

One week per camper, but you can buy a second week of another grade appropriate camp! Camper must be entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in the fall of 2022.

Join us for the Jr. Zoo Club Series where you and your little one will make new friends and meet special animal guests! Each morning will include treats your child can feed to barn or pond animals. There’s always a new adventure in Jr. Zoo Club!

Join us for Jr. Zoo Club where you and your little one will learn together about animals as you engage in crafts, playtime, and songs. Each class will nurture childrens’ curiosity through up close animal encounters and time to explore the Zoo. Every day is a new adventure in Jr. Zoo Club!

Zoo-dunit Mystery - November 11, 2021
A mystery is afoot in this one-day camp! The Zoo was visited by a mysterious guest who left behind some interesting clues! Campers will meet animals up close and become Zoo detectives by investigating animal scat, footprints, and more as they help us solve this mystery and identify these sneaky visitors.

Can You Run the Zoo? - February 1, 2022
Join us for a fast paced, one-day Zoo camp where campers explore many of the jobs it takes to run a Zoo! From Artists to Zookeepers, there’s a role for everyone. This day is filled with hands-on activities, scientific investigations, and animal encounters.

This program includes walking outside on uneven surfaces.

Be a Wildlife Scientist! - December 27-30, 2021
Acting as real wildlife scientists, campers will travel each day to a new part of the world where actual WCS researchers protect our planet’s natural spaces. From tropical rainforests to temperate mountains - even our New York City harbors - campers will put their knowledge to the test to help solve conservation challenges.

This program includes walking outside on uneven surfaces.

This camp is for children in 1st - 5th grades. 

Find out what it's like to be a wild animal keeper at the Prospect Park Zoo in this new 90 minute workshop. Full of special experiences, animal encounters, and an opportunity to make special treats for the animals, children and caregivers will get a glimpse of what it's like to care for the amazing animals here at the Zoo!

Zoolutions March 5, 2022
It’s your turn to design the Zoo! Learn how keepers and exhibit designers use science skills and a dash of creativity to make habitats that suit animal needs. Try out these same skills to design special treats for the animals. Let your imagination run wild!

Things with Wings April 30, 2022
Calling all early birds! Flock together for this special feathered feature. In this session, we’ll explore how keepers care for our avian residents and meet some winged wonders up close.

Mother's Day Morning May 7, 2022
Let’s take a mom-ent to celebrate mom! Learn about our amazing animal parents, meet animals up close, and discover how Zoo babies are important to conservation. Craft a Mother's Day present for our animal moms, and then make a gift for your own!

Tickets are per person and children must be accompanied by an adult.
This program includes a short walk outside, even in colder weather. All pathways are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Junior Girl Scouts: Join us for a fun Outdoor Animal Habitat Adventure! Learn how animals survive in the wild and how you can protect their habitats. Includes a special animal experience.

Tickets are per person and scouts must be accompanied by an adult.​

This program is held rain or shine and takes place outside. Some outdoor areas have uneven surfaces.
