QZ Summer Camp
Queens Zoo is WILD about summer camp! We bring all the fun of Zoo Camp with health and safety as a top priority.

Participants in this program will spend plenty of time outdoors during a range of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and precipitation, as well as travel over uneven, natural surfaces. Accommodations may be available. Please contact us for more information.

Zoo Camp runs from 9:00AM - 3:00PM **. We now offer Extended Care from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Extended Care includes free play, exhibit visits, and nature play exploration. Add-on items such as Extended Care and additional camp t-shirts can be purchased once you add a week of camp to your shopping cart.

Colorful Critters
Look around! What do you see? Brown bears, red birds, and green leafy trees! Nature's palette is full of patterns and colorful critters. Join us with your toddler as we discover the colors of the natural world through up-close animal encounters, hands-on art experiences, and natural play in the Zoo during this week-long camp.

Animal MOO-ves
Flap, slither, and hop! Join us for an engaging week-long camp that will get you and your toddler up and moving. Together, we will explore how animals navigate their homes, communicate through motion, and rock to the beat of nature! Each session will include up-close animal encounters, Zoo exploration, and hands-on science investigations.

Pack your bags for an unforgettable Summer ZOO-cation — no passport required! Join Chami the Chameleon puppet on a global adventure as we discover habitats around the world. Calling all superheroes! Join us at Wildlife Avengers HQ as we work together to develop solutions to puzzling conservation challenges. Where the Weird Things Are
Spiders, snakes, and bats, oh my! Many creepy crawly animals are disliked, but they have fantastically weird ways of surviving in their natural environments! Animal Zoo-lympics
Faster, higher, stronger! Animals all over the world are capable of incredible feats of athleticism, from the back-breaking speed of a puma to the aerial acrobatics of a bald eagle. Global Conservationists
As the climate changes, it’s important to look for different ways to help animals, ourselves, and our planet. In this camp we will engineer and invent new solutions to address conservation issues. From making paper to developing wildlife corridors, join us as we explore creative, nature-based solutions to the climate crisis.

Bring your little wonderer to the Queens Zoo to learn about all the cool things animals do at our zoo! In this one-hour experience, participants will go on nature walks around the zoo, construct animal-related crafts, play animal-themed games, and have special animal encounters to develop science skills.

Critter Chatter: Series Dates - 10/5/2024, 10/12/2024, 10/19/2024
It’s a symphony of animal sounds! Explore the zoo’s farm side to discover which animals make the brave “baa” sound, the mighty “moo” sound, and the quirky “quack” sound. In this session, participants will walk on the farm side, construct a craft, and meet our animals up close!

Move with the Animals: Series Dates - 11/9/2024, 11/16/2024, 11/23/2024
Do you have what it takes to hop like a bunny or slither like a snake? Join us for this session of Stroller Safari to learn about the different ways animals move in nature. In this session, participants will explore the zoo, do movement activities, and meet animals up close!

Colorful Creatures: Series Dates - 3/8/2025, 3/15/2025, 3/22/2025
A bug that looks like a leaf? An owl that looks like a tree trunk? Animals come in different colors that help them live in the wild. Join us with your little explorer to explore the different animals in the zoo that have these curious colors!

Nature's Wardrobe: Series Dates - 4/5/2025, 4/12/2025, 4/19/2025
Scaly skin, furry friends, and hard shells oh my! So many animals have different types of skins. Join us for this session of Stroller Safari to get up-close experience with animals of different coverings, exploring the zoo, and making an animal covering of your own!

*Ticket includes one caregiver and child. One caregiver is required to attend with each registered child. Additional siblings can be added on at checkout.

 
QZ Birthday Parties
Birthday parties at the Queens Zoo combine festive activities with live animal encounters and Zoo visits! Choose one of our fun age appropriate themes and make your child's birthday one to remember.

The tiny hooves of a Chacoan peccary help them navigate a spikey landscape, while the large paws of a lynx help them walk in snow! We’ll go whole hog in this program as we learn about the similarities and differences between our Chacoan peccaries and the domestic hog. Experience the life of a keeper as we discover the husbandry responsibilities and essential skills that ensure these animals stay as happy as pigs in the mud.
