QZ Birthday Parties
Birthday parties at the Queens Zoo combine festive activities with live animal encounters and Zoo visits! Choose one of our fun age appropriate themes and make your child's birthday one to remember.

A non-refundable deposit is required to book. If you have questions, please contact the Birthday Coordinator prior to booking at qzbirthdayparties@wcs.org.

You may add up to 10 additional people to your group for an additional fee.

QZB Animal Movers and Shakers (ages 3-5 years)

Hop to it and shake your tail feathers. Your child and their friends can join our party host in a non-stop party of movement games, crafts and surprise animal encounters to discover how animals at the Zoo move. The party continues with a tour of some of our wild animal exhibits.

Discover our amazing animals at the zoo as you join us for a zoo scavenger hunt adventure. Children and parents alike get to walk around our zoo as we try to solve animal clues to find our mystery animals. In this wild party learn how we care for our amazing Zoo animals. Our expert party host will lead the group on a tour of the Zoo to discover how zookeepers encourage wild behavior in the animals under their care. Zoo Sleuths - January 15, 2024
Unlock mysteries of the animal kingdom at the Queens Zoo! Becoming a wildlife detective as we study curious critters, solve challenges, and conduct up-close investigations arounds the Queens Zoo all during this 1-day camp!


Full day camp for children only. Campers will explore exhibits as well as do activities both in and out-doors. Caregiver must provide lunch and snack.

Zoomazing Race - February 19-23, 2024
Grab your map for a week-long global adventure! Animals around the world survive in some extreme environments! We will race around the world to explore these unique habitats and investigate wild interactions through hands-on challenges, up-close encounters, and science experiments. As we move like bison and prowl like the pumas, we’ll discover how we can work together to conserve wildlife and their homes.


This camp is for children in K - 5th grade (child must be 4 years old by time of program). Caregivers must provide lunch and snacks

Ever wonder what it takes to be keeper? Get ready to put your animal skills to the test as we learn about the Queens Zoo’s residents through up-close animal encounters, behind-the-scenes looks with our animal care team, and hands-on activties.

Bison - February 24, 2024
Roll up your sleeves and get ready to explore the importance of bison conservation while studying some of the Queens Zoo’s residents! During this interactive program you will learn about skills and technology needed to help conserve species around the world through behind-the-scenes experiences with our animal care staff, conduct wildlife censuses, and deliver a special treat to one of our exhibit animals during this early-access program.

Astonishing Antlers and Horns - March 16, 2024
Antlers, horns, and pronghorns, oh my! Did you know that antlers and horns are different? From the majestic antlers of the Roosevelt elk to the record-breaking horns of the Texas longhorn, we'll discover how different headgear helps these animals survive in the wild. Join us as we explore the incredible world of horns and antlers through up-close animal encounters, exhibit exploration, and more!


Birds - April 6, 2024
Get ready to soar into the world of bird conservation at Queens Zoo! We will take part in the action by practicing bird censusing, learning introductory birding skills, and helping create a special treat for some of the Queens Zoo’s feathered residents during this early-access program.


Hog Wild - May 4, 2024
We’ll go whole hog in this program as we learn about the similarities and differences between our Chacoan peccaries and the domestic hog. Experience the life of a keeper as we discover the husbandry responsibilities and essential skills that ensure these animals stay as happy as pigs in the mud. Join us as we participate in up-close animal encounters, exhibit exploration, and more!


This is a drop-off program for children in grades 3rd-5th.

Put on your safari hat and bring your magifying lenses. Each week will focus a different habitat and put your animal skills to the test as we learn about the Queens Zoo’s residents through hands-on activities, up-close encounters, and exhibit exploration.

On the Mountains - January 7, 2024
Strap on your hiking boots as we explore animals from the Andean Mountains to the high peaks of the Rocky Mountains. We'll trek through the layers of the mountain while gaining inspiration from our animal care experts, experiencing up-close encounters, and delivering a treat to one of our mountain dwelling animals.


On the Farm - March 3, 2024
Join us for fun on the farm! Humans have spent thousands of years domesticating animals to be able to coexist with us. Come explore domestic animals and their wild ancestors through up-close encounters, hands-on science activties, and an opportunity to give our farm animals a special treat!

Prairie Promenade - March 24, 2024

Coyotes, bison, and elk, oh my! Discover the diverse ecosystem of the prairie through hands-on activities, up-close encounters, and exhibit exploration.  

Discovering Decomposers - April 7, 2024

Get your hands dirty as we explore the creepy, crawly critters that live in detritus and underground! Dig through common misconceptions about invertebrates through hands-on activities, up-close encounters, and exhibit exploration.

Arboreal Adventurers  - May 19, 2024

Brush off your tree-climbing skills as we explore the world of tree dwellers! Join us as we climb new heights to better understand animals that spend time in trees through hands-on activities, up-close encounters, and exhibit exploration.

Pajama Story Time - Hora del cuento en pijama

Immerse yourself in a magical evening at the Zoo. Join us to explore the captivating world of animals through fairy tales, create your own craft mask, and learn about the fascinating ways these critters adapt and survive. Enjoy up-close encounters, tasty snacks while storytelling takes you and your family on a wildlife adventure. This event will be bilingual in English and Spanish. 


Sense-sational Spring- Primavera sensacional: April 5, 2024
It’s time to wake up from hibernation! Animals around the world are becoming active again and using their senses to explore the world. Celebrate the spring and learn about amazing animal senses with seasonal crafts, up-close encounters, tasty treats, and an evening of storytelling.  This event will be bilingual in English and Spanish.


Metamorphosis Boogie- El boogie de la metamorfosis: May 3, 2024
Seasonal changes are all around! Join us for a springtime adventure exploring the fascinating life cycle of animals that grow and change. Discover the wonders of metamorphosis through seasonal crafts, up-close encounters, tasty treats, and an evening of storytelling.

This program is for ages 2+ with caregiver. This will be a fully bi-lingual prgram. One ticket covers one caregiver and one child. One caregiver must be in attendance during the duration of the program.
